Team Philadelphia Supports Gay Games VII and the Federation of Gay Games. Team Philadelphia was created in 1989 in order to organize and promote a delegation from the Delaware Valley to the quadrennial Gay Games. Team Philadelphia’s mission statement, governing documents, and history exemplify commitment to the Gay Games. Team Philadelphia’s position as an Organizational Director of the Federation of Gay Games further reinforces this commitment. Team Philadelphia accepts the challenge to fully support the 2006 Chicago Gay Games in accordance with our bylaws-stated mission.
We applaud the momentum and accomplishments of both the Federation of Gay Games and Chicago 2006 over the past year. We look forward to every moment of Gay Games VII, from the march into Soldier’s Field for Opening Ceremonies, to the participation in the events of these Games, to the final walk in to Wrigley Field for Closing Ceremonies. Team Philadelphia is proud to give our full support to Chicago 2006 and the Federation of Gay Games.
Team Philadelphia is the umbrella group under which the various gay and lesbian sports teams and individual athletes in the Delaware Valley come together to provide a healthy outlet for all members of our community. Throughout the year, Team Philadelphia sponsors many events in order to raise funds to organize and support these athletes as the Delaware Valley’s official delegation to the quadrennial Gay Games.
